The location is very nice, in the hilly landscape just north of Newcastle. Great place for a short stay while doing some walking around the area or for a short overnight sleep like we did. The rooms are sublime! They are as the pictures. Really nicely decorated and good comfy beds. The shower was great and really enjoyable. We also stayed there for dinner and the food was really nice and service was great. Similar for the breakfast, food was freshly made and we enjoyed it so much.||Disliked · I had to give only a 3 stars for two reasons. The hotel is on the side of a road, this means that if you leave the room windows open over night, then you will hear traffic from early hours in the morning. I can't remember seen this in the main descriptions, and if so, then I would suggest to have airco or ventilation system in the room so guests can keep the windows shut and still have a fresh room. The second reason is that very early in the morning, it was around 5.30am, the staff arrived at work and put music on very loud. The music came very straight in our room and if you are a light sleeper like me, then you'll wake up and won't get to sleep anymore.. that's not good and staff should be more careful with that.

I first saw the hotel online whilst looking for things to do in the area and the rooms looked really nicely decorated and large which is great as I have a big dog and he has a BIG bed which makes him instantly at home and relaxed whenever we travel somewhere.

I had to wait until on the road to book as I didn’t know if I would make it in one go from Gloucestershire

But I did and it was all so easy

On arrival we were met by the super lovely Julie who made check in smooth and fast and then the room was clean, big and cosy.

They let me run my dog around in the dark in the meadow behind which was excellent as he had been snoozing the whole way up and needed a run around.

Everything was great with the stay and the breakfast was outstanding - they even have a menu for your dog which had some great choices.

And then in the morning the meadow was even more beautiful.

I can’t recommend the place enough it’s just such a lovely place to stay and great experience.

Where do I start … My husband and I stayed in room 10 and it definitely has the WOW factor. The bedroom was truly amazing and the view overlooking the grounds was fabulous too. The personal little touches in our room made it extra special, the chocolate and Prosecco were a much appreciated delight and the hand written post card to welcome us was such a lovely gesture.
Dinner and breakfast were excellent, a great choice, beautifully presented generous portions and absolutely delicious.
We are so grateful and would like to thank all the wonderful, courteous friendly staff who made our stay a very beautiful and memorable one.
While checking out we spoke to Jo (housekeeper) and she asked if we wanted to have a look around the hotel. Well that just made our day and stay even better, we will have to book another visit to this delightful chateau again soon!
Finally, we would definitely recommend Le Petite Chateau, it’s the perfect place to stay.

Great hotel with lovely staff and wonderful food and drinks available. Also have a great outdoor area with a very continental feel with nice and easy walks etc. Carpark is adequate but spaces are limited. Hotel has its own Chapel used for weddings.

Currently staying here just now on an itison voucher - first the hotel and grounds are stunning - rooms are beautiful and to a high standard - shower is great and bed is very comfy. |On check in we were advised there would be a wedding on our second day so we would have no access to the chateau and there may be some noise but that would be over by midnight. On night one our room Is directly above the chateau there was music playing loudly till late into the night - I had to go down and ask for it to be turned off - baring in mind it was a Monday with no wedding and an empty bar/ restaurant. The staff were very apologetic and turned it off quickly. Please also be aware the hotel is on a busy road where there are many lorrys going past nosily at all|Times day and night. Night 2 there was a wedding on and we returned to our room|Around 10pm - the wedding sounded great don’t get me wrong however there was karaoke blaring so much so we were playing guess the song ?. |Ideally prior to our stay we would have liked to have been told there was going to be a wedding on|And given the option to change dates or given the option of a different room|Type and moved to another area of the hotel as in our room|You can hear everything that’s going on downstairs. |The food and drinks are lovely and staff are great however inconsistent on pricing - I paid for one round of drinks and when my partner got the same drinks he was charged about £4 more for the same thing. |Overall don’t let this put you off coming to stay just be prepared for limited sleep if a wedding is on.

Amazing location, staff brilliant, amazing wedding. The only thing that lets this place down is the pricing - how can you have the village pub as part of your hotel charging X per pint and then within the same building restrict your guests to the wedding bar and charge them more, it’s wrong and they should be called out for it. In fact it’s exploitation. Amazing venue and great wedding but this didnt sit well with me.

As a wedding guest Richard was very helpful and nothing was too much bother. Richard never stopped all night he was a very genuine and a caring person to all the weeding guests. Richard and his staff were very professional The overall experience was excellent and would return.
