This is by far our favorite local place to escape and relax. The property is beautiful, with clean rooms, free parking, and great food nearby. When we go we like to do nothing at all and just relax in the room and on the property. The staff are caring and do a great job as well. Stonehaus, on the same property, is an awesome place for a salad, pizza, beer, or glass of wine.

I recently had the pleasure of photographing a wedding at the Westlake Village Inn, and wow—this place is truly something special! The lush gardens, cozy courtyard areas, and that stunning view of the lake all set the perfect backdrop for a dreamy, romantic wedding. The bride and groom were just glowing, and capturing their day at such a beautiful spot made my job as a photographer feel like magic.

One thing I really appreciated was how organized and attentive the staff were. They kept everything running smoothly, so we were able to capture every important moment without a hitch. Plus, the afternoon lighting around the property was chef’s kiss—perfect for those golden hour shots!

If you’re a couple thinking about getting married here, I’d say go for it. Westlake Village Inn has an elegant yet laid-back vibe that lets everyone feel at ease, and the photos turn out beautifully. I’m excited to be back for more weddings here and to capture more amazing memories!

We used Westlake village inn for our wedding welcome reception and for our bridal party and close family to stay on property, as our wedding was at a private estate a few miles away.

This venue has a lot of great perks but the customer service gave us major issues.

The pros:
- rooms were beautiful and well appointed, especially the spa suites and upgraded suites on the regular side of the property
- it was fun to have everyone close and in different buildings. it didn't feel like a sterile hotel environment
- it was lively and the grounds are beautiful. there's geese, a golf couse, a nightclub many of our guests enjoyed, a coffeeshop we had a post-wedding meetup at, spa, several beautiful and unique event spaces, and a great little restaurant
- truly gave a fun, active resort vibe that us and our guests all appreciated, especially since the surrounding area isn't as busy and bustling as other places in california
- the wait staff at our private event in the vintage room were so nice and helpful. they went above the call of duty to make us feel special and make sure our guests were taken care of

The cons:
- the event planner was difficult to work with. our coordinator lupe was slow to respond. i gave clear instructions and ideas to work around their rules (that seemed kinda ridiculous tbh) and she would not really listen to what i was saying, come up with ways to work together, suggest alts, or understand what i was asking. we ended up having a different person on site helping us the day of and they were great, but lupe made the planning process confusing and frustrating and i felt alone in trying to execute this event. it was ridiculous that our communication was as complicated as it was.
- my parents asked for late checkout on their room since all the wedding stuff was in their room. the front desk said they would grant it and then proceeded to lock them out. my parents had to get the housekeeping staff to unlock the door since the front desk would not pickup after several calls. to add insult to injury, they were in the spa suites which can only be accessed by keying into a gated off area of the hotel so my dad had to jump the gate to get on the other side only to find out he had been locked out of his room. after they spent upwards of 10k on rooms and events, it was a slap in the face and they should have received better service.
- a spa service was added to our bill that we never incurred. someone else at the hotel accidentally put down our room number for a spa treatment. we confirmed with hotel staff that it wasn't us since we didn't know anyone by that name and it happened the morning of the wedding when we were all getting ready. they said they would remove it and proceeded to keep crediting and recharging the credit card for this treatment several times.

THE VERDICT:
if you're looking for a great little place to stay that has fun and extensive amenities in the area, this is a great choice. if you're looking to host events or for a hotel to work with you on creating an multi-day experience, this is NOT the place to go if you want a easy customer service. our welcome reception and stay at the hotel was a blast, but both came with major headaches. i would not have an actual wedding here. too many moving parts that i don't think the staff is equipped to master without chaos, confusion, and some bride/groom frustration.

PROs: Beautiful grounds, great restaurants, friendly staff, nice pool area to relax, and bikes to use with first hour free.|CONS: Room shower and sink was badly clogged, there were some questionable guests during our 3 night stay...one guest talking to herself for hours at the pool, 2 police investigating a guest in room right next to us, and an attempted lobby ATM theft! Overall it was a lovely stay as the atmosphere was laid back and grounds were tranquil with beautiful views. We got a small credit for the clogged drains, but we should have just requested a new room.

I reached out to the hotel as my wife and I needed assistance due to a health issue prior to visiting for a wedding. The staff was understanding and incredibly accommodating, particularly Destiny. It’s a nice reminder of good customer service even when it’s not required or public.

I have stayed several times here for business and found the hotel beautiful, quiet and with an inviting atmosphere. The SPA is magnificent and its a MUST if you have the time. The restaurants are very good but check the time of opening and closing as all vary. I love the property and the "hacienda" style that reminds me of Mexico or a Mediterranean villa. The only downside is that if you are in a second floor, there is no elevator so you have to carry your luggage up. If you are on a short work trip with a small bag its ok but if you have a heavier piece, it might get tricky. The convenience of parking close helps with having to carry the luggage, as it is a big property. It is walking distance from other restaurants and very well located in Thousand Oaks. The rooms for events we used had a beautiful lake view and the food / coffee break service provided was delicious. The outdoor fire pits in the bar area and the outdoor sitting area at Stonehouse restaurant are my favorite places to hang out. Its really a beautiful place to stay.
