A wonderful place to visit; inspirational staff, beautiful scenery and the most gorgeous ponies and horses. Highly recommend the tour. We visited as a family all of us loved the experience 🙂 Also the cafe is a hidden gem and well worth adding in to the trip!

Such a stunning area!!! There's plenty to do on the farm with well marked paths if you want a little hike. Most of the area is wheelchair accessible. We have a disabled daughter but encourage her to walk instead of ride and took the riverside walk, a few areas were difficult for her (steep steps and just basic uneven forest ground. But what else would you expect) the 2 1/2 mi walk took us about 4 1/2 hours so it was an all day adventure for us. The bistro is large and lovely and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The dog was also welcomed and got a treat!!! Definitely recommend for a day out with the kids and all proceeds go to a great cause ?

I think the visitor center is quite new so if you are going because of the horses you might be a little disappointed, we only saw a couple and those were from a distance dispite doing both the red and blue walks. That said, it's got a wonderful cafe with some spectacular walks down to the river and through the forest and the staff were all very friendly.

We have driven past this place so many times over the years without realising what a gem of a place it is. We took the dogs for a walk and clapped the very friendly horses who run up to you as you walk by. They are so friendly you can’t help but love them all. We then went for a coffee and cake and it was great with very friendly staff who gave the dogs biscuits and water. Great views to sit and enjoy a cuppa. Loved our visit and thoroughly recommend a visit if passing.

Visited last weekend, well worth a visit, great indoor seating and when the weather is good amazing views from the large terrace seating area . Great choice of menu and the girls Sheila and Lisa who served us were so friendly and attentive.

I look at the 4 and 5 star reviews here and do wonder if I went to the same place with my family! As others have commented, the track to the venue is very bumpy (take care!, especially over the speed bumps).

The building looks well maintained and quite impressive from the outside, the land that the horses can explore on looks great. They are I'm sure doing a sterling job looking after the horses and quite rightly however I don't get the same impression of looking after the customer.

The major flaw for us was the bistro - very poor service indeed. We waited over an hour to be served non existent food. In the end we waited 45 mins for some tap water (nice freebie) and got up and left! Wasn't even that busy to be honest - my 7 year old daughter summed it up well by saying she felt that there were problems in the kitchen! And I'm afraid she was right.

Anyway at least the horses are looked after well and that's the main thing! But to be honest, my advice is to keep driving along the A93, head towards the lovely Braemar and Ballater.

What a superb place, the restaurant and food were fabulous. I think the owners should spend more time promoting the restaurant as this could bring a lot of revenue in, and also highlight the marvellous work they do with the horses, as it completely off the beaten track, but well worth visiting, and the views are fabulous
